MassGOP Post-Labor Day Update

Dear Republican Friends,

Summer is almost officially behind us, and we’re entering the fall with renewed determination to elect more Republicans to city offices this fall and Beacon Hill in 2026.

The MassGOP spent this summer with our heads down and doing our homework — raising funds, readying our 2026 convention plans, and spreading the Republican message to voters who want more than one-party rule in Massachusetts.

We have made remarkable progress since our last update to you in June.

Political:

Our focus this fall is shifting into training for next year’s elections. This Saturday will be the first of our trainings spanning this year and next.

If you live in Worcester County please join us! You can RSVP at this link or the button below.

At these trainings, we’ll be discussing filings, fundraising, dates, and data that can help our Republican Town Committees and candidates be most effective in 2026. Don’t miss your chance to learn what works!

Communications:

Making the case for balanced government has never been easier. Just look at all the ways Governor Maura Healey and the Democratic super-majority have abdicated their responsibilities:

  • Business groups say so-called “tax cuts” from 2023 are “too little” to keep them operating;
  • A Massachusetts business is suing the Healey administration for what it claims was a backroom deal over green energy highway rest stops;
  • Our U.S. Attorney Leah Foley arrested Suffolk County Sheriff Steve Tompkins for extortion, leading to his stepping away from office;
  • New media reporting uncovered a state program training migrants and illegal aliens to become police officers; and,
  • Our GOP caucus on Beacon Hill held the line on taxes while Governor Healey was rebuked by her own party for submitting a bloated budget.

Our own Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz was tapped to serve as President of the National District Attorney Association, proving that Massachusetts Republicans in law enforcement to know best how to keep our communities safe.

At the national level, the Trump administration has called out Massachusetts for its failed migrant shelter system, and we’ve been right there with him doing the same. We showed Fox News how Governor Healey is moving migrants and illegal aliens into permanent housing using the HomeBASE program, giving them up to $30,000 in free rent to stay here forever.

Massachusetts Democrats are pushing their party even further to the left. When Sen. Elizabeth Warren endorsed New York’s socialist candidate for mayor, we spoke out.

State Committeewoman Leanne Harris took over as Chair of the Party’s Public Relations Committee, which will serve as an arm of the MassGOP that communicates directly with the grassroots. The Committee sent its first newsletter out last month and is always looking for new content, so please reach out to Leanne directly with your ideas by emailing her at leannejharris@gmail.com.

The MassGOP’s “Back to Normal” digital show continues to pay dividends. After our host Jeff Semon interviewed parents from the Burlington Public Schools concerned about an explicit survey, the U.S. Department of Education launched a civil rights investigation. Watch the episode and subscribe here.

State Committee Meeting:
The State Committee held its most recent meeting on July 31st, and our Members passed four Resolutions that you may read in full on the new Resolutions page of our website here.
Resolution that Reinforces 72% of Massachusetts Voters for an Audit of the Legislature Resolution to Keep the Number of Supreme Court Justices to Nine Resolution to Honor the Contributions of Eric Tarpinian-Jachym Resolution to Preserve Columbus Day (special thank you to Ginny Gardner for speaking on behalf of Member Nicky Miceli)
We will continue to post past and future resolutions passed by the State Committee as our page grows.
In addition, we elected two new Officers to manage the Party’s finances for 2025-2026, Treasurer Mindy McKenzie and Assistant Treasurer Anthony Ventresca.
Election Integrity:
Thanks to the great work of our Election Integrity Committee and its Chair Julie Hall and Kathy Lynch, we have solicited over 250 volunteers committed to helping pursue honest and fair elections across Massachusetts this year and next. If you want to participate with the Committee or the ballot questions pursuing voter ID for elections, please reach out to them directly.

Looking Ahead:
It’s easy to be discouraged and think Massachusetts is a lost cause. But I’m reminded every time I speak with the Republican National Committee how outstanding the MassGOP is among our state parties. We’re constantly asked to advise other states who want to emulate our practices, and that’s in no small part thanks to our tremendous Members of the Republican State Committee and the grassroots activists who inspire us.
Please join us on the road for trainings this fall and consider running for office. Each of us has a small part to play in a statewide plan that will result in retaking the governor’s office and building our ranks on Beacon Hill. We can’t do it without you.
Share your events on the MassGOP Events page and send us your suggestions. If you have candidate you want to highlight, please share them with us, too. We’ll begin highlighting various candidates and ways you can help them directly, so stay tuned for more.
Politics is a team sort, and we care about our teammates — you! I look forward to seeing you in our classes or holding signs for candidates this fall.

Sincerely,

Amy Carnevale

Chairman, Massachusetts Republican Party
