Mike Minogue beat Brian Shortsleeve in every precinct and won the city 1,345 to 496. He also had an early win statewide and will represent the GOP in the general election in November. Congratulations Mike!
In the Lieutenant Governor’s race, Shawn Oliver from New Bedford defeated Anne Manning Martin, who ran a write-in campaign, 1,346 to 212.
Anne Brensley, who ran a write-in campaign for Secretary of State, garnered 378 votes. She needs 5,000 votes statewide to be on the general election ballot in November. Getting 378 in Attleboro helps a lot.
John Deaton, who was unopposed, won the nomination for US Senate with 1,621 votes. Also unopposed, Michael Walsh won the nomination for Attorney General with 1,575 votes. Elizabeth Dionne received 1,511 votes in her unopposed race for Treasurer. Frank Crimmins got 1,444 votes for Governor’s Council. And Seth Aitken won the nomination for Bristol County District Attorney with 1,442 votes.
In all, there were 6,162 votes cast in the election, or 17% turnout. The above results are unofficial until they are certified and submitted to the Secretary of State.

On the other side, Markey crushed Moulton, and Auchincloss crushed Poulos. There were no other contested races.
